How To Unlock A Suitcase Lock

From Wall to Web

The salient feature of the political, military and economic built at the end of World War II and ended in the late eighties, commonly called system of the Cold War, was the division and the symbol par excellence of that system was represented by a single word: wall.

The system of globalization, born in the late eighties, but which has distinctive integration and is also commonly represented by a single word: web, namely the World Wide Web.

Before addressing the analysis of systems of power and balance between them is established, unequivocally define what we mean by the term globalization to prevent the uncontrolled use now, Broadcast and apply to any context makes it similar to other terms, which, by diffusion in the use and abuse have been so ridiculed by look more like a mantra recited that a methodology to follow.

In the seventies this fate was in Italy at the end dislocation, so that it will be abused in any claim and in all the geopolitical analysis, whether we speak of items in Sesto San Giovanni and the Empire multinationals, and the ethics of working class struggle and so on.

The first decade of the twenty-first century instead adopted as a prayer dispels crisis that can exorcise all evil, the words innovation and research, all of whom fill the mouth to the point that we are no longer in Italy able to understand why those who call on the show to others as the methodological approach to beat, and none of those who undertake the calls seriously, be they governments or large enterprises, small and medium-sized businesses or workers.

Probably the answer to this question lies in the fact that innovation and research cost and someone has to pay these costs them: everyone is ready to fully enjoy the benefits but nobody wants to take on even part of the cost. But back to the definition of globalization that he wanted to fix.

Personally I agree with the definition of "globalization" was coined by Thomas L. Friedman, columnist for the American winner of three Pulitzer Prizes and the editor of a biweekly column on The New York Times .

The reasons for this preference among many equally valid and acceptable definition lies in the fact identified by Friedman as the heart of the phenomenon of "globalization," the network of relations and relationships across the network.

In light of the assertions I shall mean, in this paper that I agree with the term "globalization" unrelenting and unprecedented integration, markets, transport systems and means of communication that allows companies, nations and individuals to reach more remote places with a speed, depth and an unusual economy and the world at the same time to achieve, with the same speed, depth and cost, companies, nations and individuals from further afield.

The world system ruled by the cold war endowed us with certainty that we were all divided and that there were two people at the helm: the presidents of the United States of America and the Soviet Union.

In the system of globalization internet assures us that we are all connected but no one steering the ship, let alone can chart a course without the risk that someone will notice.

Especially as the network spreads, the greater becomes the reaction of those who feel overwhelmed by such disclosure, shall be deemed approved, or simply feel unable to keep pace with others.

The more these individuals are excluded by us, the greater the anger in their mount ready to lash out against those who, though known or belonging to their community, no longer viewed as similar but fear as different, just because these have begun to change, through the use of web , its own categories of thought, opening up to reality conceptually different and geographically distant. - more ...
