Arriving by train after about forty minutes from Leamington-trip enjoyable with a privileged position to observe the verdant countryside of the Midlands, interspersed with hedgerow separating the grazing fields planted with barley and just Miet-one would not expect to fall in a cluster of so much culture and tradition, but also populated by too many young people who were grazing along the path that leads from the modern station in the center. Centre also full of monuments and palaces that exude history and will set back at least to the '300. Despite the reputation of the city of Oxford as the site of most 'ancient and prestigious British university, I did not expect to be so suddenly immersed in a puzzle that make a college town, everyone is obviously not open to visitors this Saturday, Sept. 20 (it seems was an alumni day) and each soaked in centuries of tradition and prestige, discipline and student spirit, as well as an oasis of study and meditation. each with its nice yard with lawn English and windows with stained glass, and want the flowers on the windowsill, you want to climb the ivy colored walls.
This you see is the Christchurch college, famous and home of the setting of Alice in Wonderland and Alice through the looking glass, as well as some scenes from the film set of Harry Potter.
particularly exciting, then, is the climb up a steep and narrow spiral staircase that runs through the bell tower to the roof of the church of St. Mary, which of course, you can enjoy a 360 degree view only.
